WE HAVE A POSSIBLE MCR5 LEAK

MCRmy Calling: Is MCR5 on the Horizon?

The “Foundations of Decay” echo is still resonating with My Chemical Romance fans, and with good reason! It reignited the fire, leaving us all wondering – when can we expect a full album, the fabled MCR5?

While there’s no official confirmation, the reunion’s success and “Foundations” itself hint at a strong possibility. We, the MCRmy, can’t help but be hopeful!

This morning we woke up, checked our instagram and noticed a video had been posted by a fan mentioning ‘the leak’, a possible recording of a song called ‘Witch’. Not only that but a reddit deep dive was able to give us a YouTube video complete with lyrics with no backing instruments as of yet;

Commenters on the reddit post in https://www.reddit.com/r/MyChemicalRomance/comments/1dvgnr2/witch_possible_lyrics/?chainedPosts=t3_1dvkrrk

are hoping this is real, with one Redditor commenting ‘..this is so epic please be real because this genuinely sounds so cool’ finishing with ‘EDIT:its real’

Another commenter however states that the file is ‘from July 24, 2012’, meaning that this could be a hoax or simply an earlier unreleased song by the band.

Leaks are always touchy, just look at how unfavourably Tyler Joseph from Twenty One Pilots took the leak of his latest album ‘Clancy’, he made a joke of it on the bands YouTube live release, threateningly squeezing air out of a ballon hoping listeners that got the chance to listen to the album before the band released it ‘enjoyed the leak’ while he stared menacingly down the barrel of the camera (he is very scary, we would not like to pass him in a dark alley.)

Another Redditor expressed their mixed feelings on the leak writing ‘a part of me is thrilled to finally hear this. But a part of me also feels awful for the band..the news of this leak’s got to be real hard for them..we weren’t meant to hear this, especially incomplete.’

We know we’ll be watching Frank Iero’s instagram stories very closely as it’s likely that if this leak is real he’ll have something to say about it, and probably try to hilariously shut it down and palm it off as a fake.

Leaks: A Double-Edged Sword for Fans

Leaks are a constant tightrope walk for music lovers. On one hand, there’s a nagging feeling of intrusion, like we’re peeking behind the curtain at something not quite ready. Unfinished songs feel like stolen glances – exciting glimpses, but lacking the artist’s intended polish. It’s unfair to them, for sure.

But let’s be honest, leaks can be thrilling. There’s a undeniable rush in being one of the first to hear a new track, a feeling akin to scoring a bootleg concert tape back in the day. It breeds a sense of exclusivity, a secret handshake with other fans who’ve stumbled upon this hidden gem.

The whole experience is a double-edged sword. We crave the new, but respect the artist’s vision. Maybe the ideal scenario lies somewhere in between – carefully curated teasers that pique our interest without spoiling the full surprise.
